Weatherpants Rock!
Griff C. Danheim, Houston, TX
Just a note to say thanks for a great product. I purchased a pair of Weather Pants for a two week trek to Philmont Scout Ranch. Our crew was on a north country itenerary, which involved wilderness travel for most of the trek. In the two weeks of wearing the pants every day, after normal washing show no wear, abrasion, pull, tear or any other sign of use. They were worn to slide down muddy slopes, crawl up a 12,441 mountain on rocky shale, mud, briars, water and snow.
I am pleased with the product and will recommend it to all who need rugged outdoor gear. |

Trail Work, Sierra Club

My RailRiders weather pants and eco-mesh shirt have been with me on my last 5 years of volunteer trail crew trips with the Serria club. From the Ruby Mountains in Nevada to British Columbia. The have held up to weeks of rock moving, tree cutting, mud and sun. The eco mesh shirt keeps me cool on hot days, protects me from the sun, brush and all the elements that trail building and repair bring on. And the pants...the knees still look new even after weeks of pushing large bolder's around the old fashion way... attached is one photo from my past trip, I do have more I can dig up if you would like them thank you for a great product.

Vintage RailRiders
Drew, Idaho
The attached pic shows me wearing my beloved Railriders Adventure Pants (circa early 90’s) during their last trip before I retired them. In August my family spent a week on in Alaska’s Tongass National Forest – the wettest & largest temperate rainforest on Earth. Once again, your pants were the perfect gear for a week’s worth of living in a remote cabin, deep in the Alaskan bush. When the floatplane returned to pick us up after 8 days of hiking, fishing, and blueberry picking, and I still wearing my Railriders – the only pants I had brought. Upon my arrival home to Idaho, I saw your latest catalog featuring the new Extreme Adventure Pants with their many upgrades from my old style Railriders. I decided it was finally time to retire my favorite old Adventure Pants, along with their burn holes, scuffs, and stains. Now I’ve got a fresh pair of Extreme Adventure Pants in my closet, ready for our upcoming trip into the rainforest in Kauai. I can’t wait to get them dirty. My wife says I should bronze my old pair of Railriders Adventure Pants on hang them on my wall. I just might. Thanks for making gear that’s tough.

Retiring my 14 year old pants
William Tarvin
These pictures show my original Railriders purchase back in 1999 was this pair of Weatherpants. They have taken me to the summit of all forty-eight 4,000 foot peaks in the New England area and also all fifty-four 14,000 foot summits in Colorado, plus numerous backpacks and trekking trips all over the world, but they finally met their match in the slot canyons of the North Wash in Utah. These are by far the toughest pants that I have ever owned. Thanks for a great product. Hopefully my new pair will last me 15 plus years. |

Gear Junkie Top Pick!
Stephen Reginold
I tested outdoors oriented pants from five companies, wearing them in the woods and around town. For serious bushwhacking and wilderness exploration, RailRiders' Weatherpants were my favorite. These amazingly tough nylon trousers have put up with hundreds of miles of bushwhacking, canyoneering, mountain climbing, and general outdoors tomfoolery, and they still look nice enough to wear out to dinner. Nothing I've ever put on my legs has been this tough, eschewing thick thorns and even barbed wire without ripping. Weatherpants dry quickly once wet. Knee patches add extra reinforcement. They have an integrated belt to keep snug on the waist. Plus, they fit well and are comfortable for days on the go. |

Thru-Hiking the Apalachian Trail
Keith Dailey, Glengary, West Virginia
"I started on Springer Mountain in Georgia with one pair of pants: RailRiders Weatherpants. Two backpacks, three boots, six months, six days later, I finished on Mount Katahdin in Maine with the same pair of pants. I wore my RailRiders on the train down to Georgia, I wore them on the trail, I wore them into town, I wore them in the wind, I wore them in the rain, I wore them in my sleeping bag, I wore them in five star restaurants, I wore them to fend off bugs, I wore them to fend off a chill, I wore them on the train home to West Virginia. I wore them everywhere, but I did not wear them out. I still wear them." |
