Our new Rolling Thunder Ranch Coat is your ticket to adventure! The coat Clint Eastwood would have worn in the movie The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. The perfect complement to what fall, and winter can throw at us. A soft handed weatherproof waxed cotton/nylon shell that keeps the elements at bay, with a cozy and warm Coolmax Flannel lining that warms you to the core. Excellent pocket placement with side zippered hand warming pockets. A high stand up rib-knit collar for a soft and long-lasting relationship with your neck. The Rolling Thunder Ranch in the heartlands of Colorado is a throwback to old times, a place where dreams are made, and time forgotten. You want this coat; it will bring your adventures to life.
I will echo much of what Brent has posted the waxed material feels very soft and comfortable. It feels like a jacket you've owned for years. Pocket layout is excellent. As with all the RailRider clothing I own this garment is lightweight. This is a perfect jacket for the cool autumn weather. It looks great in the fall foliage. If you're looking for a winter garment - this isn't it. Mine is an XL yet came packed small enough in a Priority Mail Tyvek Bag to be placed in my mail-box. I'll admit that put a psychological damper on things as I was expecting something a bit heavier - particularly a waxed garment. But once out of the packing and fluffed - it comes to life. As mentioned in Brent's review this is a bit small You'll notice it in the shoulders and arms. I am 5'8" 200lbs athletic. I would not be able to wear an under garment heavy sweatshirt or sweater under this - which is unfortunate. The fit is much like a suit or sports coat with restricted movement in the arms. As a lightweight fall jacket sizing would be my only modification for future production. I've worn mine daily since receiving it. Very comfortable.

Pros This is a great looking coat. It is seriously good looking. The shell is quite windproof and reasonably water repellant. The waxed material feels quite old school. The pockets are well placed. Cons The fit is a bit tighter than other RailRiders products I have if you want to layer I would consider ordering a size up. The lining is fairly thin so layering is key for warmth.
