Misty April morning on the AT? June night at Red Rocks? Blustery October day at the range? January skin up through a foot of fresh powder? Our Weathertop pullover jacket is good to go for “All of the above”! The 2-ply, 3 oz. Supplex construction with DWR keeps wind, showers, and stains at bay and breathes at the same time. When things get gusty zip the tall collar to the top, tighten the hook and loop cuff closures, and cinch the hem draw cord tight. On the move? Have no fear, the Weathertop vents like a steam train! Dual 10 inch chest zips and 15 inch underarm zips join forces with a mesh-lined back cape to show moisture the door. In the winter pair the Weathertop with our flash drying Hydro-Zip-T and you’ll spend your snow day dry as a bone instead of chilled to the bone. Then there’s the gusseted “action back” for freedom of movement, a zippered sleeve pocket for keys and IDs, and articulated Cordura elbow patches that go prone time and time again without wearing thin. Did we mention the roomy kangaroo pouch? It’s the right fit for digicams, snacks, and chilly hands. Hook and loop on each side help keep the contents stowed, and a zippered pocket up front fits a map and compass when you’re in the backwoods or bus fare and transfer tickets when you’re on the backroads.
Reason for Being: We wanted to create a lightweight jacket that survived in a wide variety of conditions. The Weathertop is designed to move, breathe, and insulate depending on what you need. It is water resistant, wind resistant, and reinforced to protect you from abrasion.
Fabric: 2 ply, 3oz duralite Nylon with a DWR Finish for extra water resistance. Jacket will keep you dry in light rain/snow.
Ventilation: The Weathertop has 7” armpit vent zippers and 10” chest vent zippers, along with a back cape vent to provide unparalleled ventilation for aerobic activity in cold weather.
Articulated: The arms are articulated and the shoulders are gusseted to allow maximum freedom of movement.
Packs Down: The Weathertop can be folded into its Kangaroo pocket for quick, easy, and compact storage.
RAILTEX Reinforcement: Our nylon, abrasion resistant fabric RAILTEX reinforced on the elbows to prevent wear.
This is great for layering. Blocks the wind drizzle and damp. While on the move appreciate all the venting capabilities. Rolls up small when you don't need. The one thing I DON'T like is the "uncovered" zipper of the kangaroo pocket. Had my camera hanging from my neck and didn't notice the exposed LCD screen was banging against the zipper pull. My bad. But did enough damage to have to replace the screen. Lesson learned. Am considering having a tailor sew a central flap to cover the zipper and prevent the problem. But the side pockets are nice and deep enough to warm your hands when the cold wind blows.

Versatile layering garment. I use mine with various underlayers. Problems with size were resolved.

I am hard to fit due to too much girth vs height. RR products have the best sizing for me and the products are very durable with a no nonsense warranty. In addition to this jacket I have several pants and shorts which have been impossible to wear out. Not cheap but worth every penny. As we all should know you get what you pay for.
