Ken Rutherford is a volunteer teacher in a remote village in West Bengal, India. He writes, ” I just love your products. Right now I have the Extreme Adventure pants which I hope to have for many, many years to come and the Rampage Shorts which I used in the Indian Ocean. The sand messed up some of my other clothing, but so far all the zippers on your stuff remain solid. That was my only concern with your products. For me the stuff is a bit pricey, but I am making an investment here, so I used my tax return to place an order. I have been working with a lady named Pam who helped me place the order via email and off your website.
“As a volunteer teacher at a school for poor children, money is one thing that is hard to come by as you can imagine. Here in the remote village where I live now, we only hand wash clothing and air dry them. We use powdered soap which we get shipped in along with our other supplies from Kolkata. The idea is they soak the dirty clothes around here in the soap and very little water for hours often overnight or at times even longer. Basically they put enough water in a bucket to dissolve the soap and then allow the clothing to soak up the soapy water. Then they let it sit. I am sure this is great for cotton which loves to absorb water. Then they scrub the clothes with a plastic brush by adding even more water then rinse it all out and wring it all out and air dry it often in the sun. The water is from a well and so it is usually cool. From what I can tell both the Extreme Adventure Pants and Rampage shorts have been very good at not holding stains. If I need to I can just rinse out my clothes and let them air dry in the night and wear them for days before I go to the trouble of actually using soap on them.”
