The Great Plains region is often overlooked, but it’s home to some fascinating National Parks and plenty of historic sites. Despite the images of rolling fields of grain, you’ll find gorgeous mountains, geysers, geographic formations, waterfalls, and more here. It’s the perfect region to explore by road tripping as you can hit several of these great spots along a reasonable route. Winter is a thing of beauty in the Great Plains, but you will need the proper clothes to enjoy it in all its glory. Meet our new Great Plains Field Pants, a super tough stretch moleskin fabric that is brushed to feel like butter. Clothing made from moleskin is noted for its softness and durability and feels like soft lambswool against the skin. So if your travels take to you the beauty of a Great Plains winter, make sure these pants travel with you. they want you too.
Coming back to buy a 3rd pair. Tough just enough stretch well made I expect many years of use from these. They will be my go-to pants in chilly winter conditions. They can be worn to the office or in tough field conditions. I recently found they handle drizzle / light rain well also.

I am very impressed with these pants soft and comfortable but they seem tough

Hard to find a nice pair of moleskin pants like these. My previous source was Ibex (now defunct) which lasted for years of hard use. Then I got a pair from Lands End that never did fit right. The RailRiders Great Plains Field Pants seem very well made and the fabric is dense enough to stand up to the endless winter days we're having this year in the northern states. I wish they had been available in a size 35 (the gap between 34 and 36 is pretty large). In retrospect I probably could have gone with the 34's as the 36's are cut full and relaxed. They are quite comfortable and have been my constant companion for the two weeks I've owned them. Highly recommended.
