The Bushwacker Weatherpant with Insect Shield is the newest addition to our famous tough pants collection. A full featured pant with a great fit. A balistically tough outdoor pant yet refined enough for hanging out in those Palo Alto juice bars. Features include: Insect Shield technology to ward off the Mosquitoes, black flies, chiggers, ticks and no-seeums. Tough 2ply 3oz Duralite Nylon with Railtex reinforced seat, knees and back of ankle, Deep front pockets with side security zip pocket, 2 zippered back pockets, arcticulated cell phone pocket on right leg, cross-quad zippered pockets for easy access and storage, 2" belt loops, removable belt and a D-ring attached to the front belt loop for attaching keys, carabiners, etc. If there was a perfect pant for the Barkley Marathon or the death race in Vermont, this pant would be it!
Reason For Being: We wanted to revamp our old Weatherpant design, so we took off the elastic cuff, added thigh pockets and a few other small features, but without sacrificing any of the Weatherpants’ legendary durability. These things will keep you happy bushwhacking through anything.
Fabric: Our standard 2 ply, 3 ounce nylon, which gives the best possible combination of durability, breathability, quick drying, and comfort.
Small Stuff: We added taller reinforcements, a new cell phone pocket, thigh pockets, a plastic D-ring to attach accessories, and tweaked the fit to create our most popular pair of pants yet.
RAILTEX Reinforcement: Railtex is the reinforcement nylon we put on most of our pants, similar to Cordura®. It is highly abrasion resistant and water resistant and is a second layer of defense. We reinforce the highest-impact areas of your pant: the knees, ankles, and butt, to ensure they last forever.
Insect Shield: 100% safe treatment for your clothing that will repel harmful insects and ticks. Permethrin is a new industry standard for bug repellant and the amount contained in our treated clothing is guaranteed to be safe for adults, children, and even pets. Effective up to 70 washes.
Great fit. Tough yet comfortable fabric. Reasonable price.

Nice light weight pants. I fear they may be too light for the kind of basset hunting we d. We go through briars and thick cover as the bassets chase rabbits. We dont shoot the rabbits the hounds just chase them. Well see this fall. Wish they would come in different waist sizes instead of small medium etc. other than these issues I like these pants. Thanks.

These pants continue to impress. I bought a pair last year and took them on a tough 30 day solo canoe trip in Canada. I had a pair of backup pants but never used them. This year I didn't even bother taking a pair of backup pants on my 42 day solo Canadian trip that reached to the Nunavut border. I used the same pair as last year and they did great. They're a nice combination of lightweight and tough. Light enough they dry quickly but tough enough they can handle bushwhacking through portages without more than a few small tears that will be easily repaired over the winter. The butt and knee reinforcements are appreciated as I spend a lot of time kneeling and sitting on rock. A quick note about pant length I have a 34" inseam so ordered the long version. It's a good length for daily wear but not for canoe tripping. On last year's trip the bottom pant leg was often wet and muddy from dragging on the ground and was worn by my heal. Over the winter I shortened them about 1 1/2" and that was a big improvement. Looks too short when wearing shoes but fine with high boots. But most importantly it's a lot more functional out in the field. When it comes time to order another pair I think I'll just get regular length.
