Are you really interested in long pants for the desert, jungle, or backcountry that are superlight, tough, and airy? With the Eco-Mesh Pants, you now have amazing temperatureregulating features. Constructed out of two-ply, 3-oz. Duralite nylon fabric, the tricked-out elements are 27-inch side zippers concealed behind vertical bands, which provide air flow to that one troubling hot spot encountered by most hikers: the crotch. Behind the tucked-away zippers are soft-mesh panels whose duty is to funnel air in and around your nether regions. With the zippers closed, the abrasion- resistant Eco-Mesh Pants resemble a traditional pair of khakis. Because the fabric is now treated with Insect Shield® technology, you have protection against mosquitoes, biting flies, and ticks. The fit is enhanced by elastic side panels at the waist, and sports two on-seam front pockets, 2 zippered back pockets. Super packable, with a 15-minute maximum drying time. Includes a new side-zippered security pocket.

My previous pair of your Eco-Mesh pants survived 3200 miles of the CDT and many more miles of shorter wilderness excursions and looked like they may have had 3000 more miles left in them. But evidently my sweaty/salty waistband proved irresistable to some critter one night and I awoke under my tarp one morning to find my waistband chewed and devoured. Unrepairable so I have to order a new pair.

I just returned from guiding a week-long backpacking trip to Isle Royale National Park. I ordered these pants and the Equator HT shirt with insect shield as I had been informed that the mosquitoes would be prevalent and they were indeed. I and the others in my group were very impressed with the effectiveness of these clothes. I wore them all week and never had to break out the Deet. Even with the mesh legs unzipped for extra ventilation the mosquitoes just didn't mess with me. Rail Riders insect shield clothing made a potentially miserable week a very memorable one. My customers are all ordering Rail Riders garments now.

Just got back from hiking in Zion Nation Park. We did long hikes in 94 deg F early July weather. I was the only one that I saw in long pants and I was extremely cool and comfortable. They fit me loose enough to allow for freedom of motion for climbing to Observation Point and Angles Landing. Unless I need shorts like hiking in deep water these will be my go to pants from now on.
