We developed them in conjunction with military professionals and outdoorsmen who are more the type to read Field & Stream rather than Men’s Journal. We’ve even found that U.S. Special Forces have taken a special liking to our VersaTacs. When your life is constantly in harm’s way, you want the ultimate protection in clothing. The VersaTac comes in three weights. The Light Pants are made with super tough yet lightweight 3-oz Duralite Nylon fabric (the same kind used in our Weatherpants), and features a gusseted crotch and double-reinforced knees and seat. Both the Mid Pants and Light Pants sport the following: side cargo pockets with internal pockets to hold a flashlight, mag clips, and energy bars; vertical zippers on front cargo pockets that allow quick access while sitting, kneeling or driving a vehicle; and reinforced pocket openings to prevent abrasion against knife clip chafe. Front pockets close with Velcro and double-button closures, and two back pockets have flaps with Velcro and double-button closure as well.

Fabric: Versatac Mid pants are made out of 6.6 ounce Canvas Weave nylon, which is twice as heavy as our normal pant fabric that you find on Weatherpants or X-Tremes. Reinforced with an extra layer of canvas weave at the knees, seat, and ankles for extra durability.
The best pockets around. Huge cargo pockets allow limitless storage while also including smaller pockets for sorting what you carry. A cell phone pocket allows for easy access and storage of mobile devices, and the side cargo pockets have additional zipper access for ease when seated.

I have been waiting for these pants to be re-introduced. They are the perfect weight for cool to colder weather. The quality the number of useful pockets are first rate. This is the second pair that I have purchased.

Very similar to the Longshoreman pants which are excellent with 5 zipper pockets and cargo snap button pockets. These VersaTac Mid pants are the same material and weight with 3 zipper pockets. The rear pockets are double button and velcro. The buttons take some work to get undone. I prefer snap buttons and zippers over velcro and plastic buttons. All in all it's a very good pant.
