Coming on the heels of the success of our Versatac Light and Mid Pants, we created the Versatac Ultra-lIght Pants.  Made with all the same great features as the Light and Mid.  The Ultra-Lights are constructed with 2ply 3oz Rip-Stop Nylon (the same fabric we use in our Rampage Shorts). The entire pant weighs in at 14 ounces, but don't let that fool you into thinking they are not tough.  Ideal for hot weather wear, UPF 30+ sun protection and all the features you have come to love in the Versatac family.

Reason for Being: The lightest pant in our VersaTac line up, designed to give you all the features of the VersaTac pant with only 14 ounces of weight. Wearable in extreme heat, dry extremely fast.

Fabric: Ultra lightweight “Rip-Stop” nylon. Light and breathable but with a rip-stop pattern to prevent tearing with heavy use. Reinforced with an extra layer on the knees, seat, and ankle for extra durability.

The best pockets around: Huge cargo pockets allow limitless storage while also including smaller pockets for sorting what you carry. A cell phone pocket allows for easy access and storage of mobile devices, and the side cargo pockets have additional zipper access for ease when seated.

I bought the black version of these a few years ago and liked them enough to try the slate version. The color actually has a little of green in it (less to my liking but I understand that it's difficult to get colors right on the internet - let alone that my monitor probably wasn't calibrated at the time). For the pants in general I've got no issues these slate ones have a kind of raised grid to the material (the black ones didn't back then) so I don't know how they'll hold up yet - but I expect RR will stand behind them. I did avoid getting the belt I've got one for the black pair and it's frayed on the edges simply from putting it on the pants and taking it off not the kind of thing I'd expect from RR. Overall the black ones have served really well and I expect the same from the slate ones.

I've been buying clothes for many decades and the Versa-Tac ultra-lights are by far the best-- for several reasons. First they are well worth every dollar for the quality you get. In addition they are the most comfortable pants I've ever worn no matter what I happen to be doing. The "ultra-light" pants are the lightest pants I've ever come across. Summers used to be very difficult for me to endure as I have no thyroid (which regulates body temp). Now I breeze right through them with the ultra-lights and several RailRiders shirts. In addition to keeping me cool and comfortable I love all the special features and pockets which demonstrate the careful thinking and consideration that went into making these pants. I recommend the Versa-Tac ultra-lights to everyone who cares about quality comfort and looking good (without trying too hard).

I bought the VersaTac Ultra-Lights for my nephew who is traveling to Europe this summer and needed to travel very light. These pants are impressive well-made and judging from the reviews I am sure they will hold up well. The color grey is true to the depiction online. The nylon material should be easy to wash out by hand if need be. I was a bit concerned about sizing. My nephew is about 5'4" tall and weighs from 135 -140 lbs. I bought him size Small with the 30" inseam. He has a bit of extra room in the waist if needed with the elastic inserts at the sides the length is slightly long on him but are held off the ground by the addition of his shoes. In short we are very happy with our purchase. Now I want to order some items for me Thank you RailRiders for being one of the few companies left with pure quality in mind
