Coming on the heels of the success of our Versatac Light and Mid Pants, we created the Versatac Ultra-lIght Pants. Made with all the same great features as the Light and Mid. The Ultra-Lights are constructed with 2ply 3oz Rip-Stop Nylon (the same fabric we use in our Rampage Shorts). The entire pant weighs in at 14 ounces, but don't let that fool you into thinking they are not tough. Ideal for hot weather wear, UPF 30+ sun protection and all the features you have come to love in the Versatac family.
Reason for Being: The lightest pant in our VersaTac line up, designed to give you all the features of the VersaTac pant with only 14 ounces of weight. Wearable in extreme heat, dry extremely fast.
Fabric: Ultra lightweight “Rip-Stop” nylon. Light and breathable but with a rip-stop pattern to prevent tearing with heavy use. Reinforced with an extra layer on the knees, seat, and ankle for extra durability.
The best pockets around: Huge cargo pockets allow limitless storage while also including smaller pockets for sorting what you carry. A cell phone pocket allows for easy access and storage of mobile devices, and the side cargo pockets have additional zipper access for ease when seated.
Bought two pairs of the Men's VersaTac Ultra-light pants recently. The material is very comfortable on the body and looks good. Front pockets are big enough for the hands to search for stuff while seated. Cargo and rear pockets are nice with both Velcro and two-button closures. Waist elastic is a boon- fits true to size with a little wiggle room. Length ran long by an inch or so. Thanks for also using belt loops instead of an integrated nylon belt- I like to wear my own belts and they are all in the 1" wide range. Flexible range of use on these pants- great for lounging around or going out on the town. I have also used them at work as an RN on a busy hospital floor. When are you going to offer them in red or brown

I owne 2 pairs and recently purchased a 3rd. That should say something. They are the most comfortable pair of pants I have worn on the trail (and around town)...and most functional. I thought the size zipper pocket was a marketing ploy but I found it very useful sitting down.I have logged in several seasons on one pair with over a hundred miles of PA trails and they are holding up nicely. And while I love my Arc'tyrex Ramparts and Gamma LT's I find myself wearing these more often. The only negative I would point out is the raised portion of the rip-stop nylon can fray some. But I don't consider it enough to drop a 5 star rating as I find no fabric to be perfect when backpacking. Finally RailRiders stand behind their products. In once case I carried a camera bag on my hip that continued to rub the material on a 84 mile hike. I thought the fraying was a little more than expected and great folks at RailRiders replaced my pants free.Great product great price great company.

I'm a North Face Paramount pants backpacker but I prefer the VersaTac Ultra-Lights for traveling. I haven't yet tried their heavier weights for backpacking but I may soon. I love the VersaTac Ultra Lights for traveling on flights roadtrips and field excursions. Pockets galore with easy access to contents. Just returned from hot climates of Belize Nicaragua and Columbia and loved using the pants. I love the lightweight. I have only a couple of complaints. RR needs to add a hanging loop to rear inside seam for hanging pants on door hooks. The pants I guess because of the extremely lightweight material do wrinkle by end of day. So hanging them to pull wrinkles out through gravity overnight is a necessity. The wrinkles are minor though. The pants look "dressy." One can wear upscale foot wear with these pants and feel comfortable walking into a five star hotel or restaurant wearing them. I recommend them highly. In fact I just ordered another pair the "light tan" color. I have the Khaki color and they are very nice dressy looking.
