The Gatsby Polo

You’re a yachtsman working foredeck on the 129 foot J-Class SV Endeavor out of Newport Rhode Island.  Foredeck is a strenuous job that requires quick thinking and keen agility.  These boats carry over 17,000 sq feet of sail.  Today’s regatta pits 10 of these classic yachts restored from the early 1920’s against each other.  A large spectator fleet assembles on the lawn at Castle Hill to watch these gorgeous yachts parade by to the racecourse.  Prior to the regatta the skipper hands out the polo shirts (all matching the boats color) to all 35 crew members embroidered with the yachts name on the left chest. It’s a gorgeous blend of cotton and polyester that makes the crew look sharp and uniform-very classy eh?  There is a fancy regatta party after the races held at the famous Marble house on Bellevue Avenue (mansion Row), something resembling Jay Gatsby’s palace from the movie of the same name.  You live life large, walking through the doors of this highly polished mansion with your Gatsby polo embroidered with SV Endeavor makes you feel like a prince in a fairytale.  You want this Polo, period.
